File Not Found between two versions

Hi All,
I have an Excel 2003 file with no links to other files. We're trying to
open it on a separate PC running Excel 2000, but when opening the file in
Excel 2000, we get the "File Not Found" box asking for a filename.

The File Not Found does not appear when opening in Excel 2003. I've
searched this file for a)links b)objects linking to another file and
c)hyperlinks linking to another file.

I'd appreciate if anyone can share knowledge about how to better hunt down
links, how to turn off the File Not Found box that appears only in Excel
2000, or any other suggestions to not incur the File Not Found box when
opening in Excel 2000.

Thanks!
Brian

Hi,
When opening it from Excel (File/Open...), does the problem occur?
If not, I remember something about adding /e at the end of the command...
(click right on the XL icon, and add /e at the end ...EXCEL.EXE" /e
Does it work?

Good thought. Same problem occurs when opening from the menu in Excel
2000. I will check into adding something to the end of the command, thanks!

I am still not sure where the link can be in my file, though, since the
Edit/Links menu option is grayed out indicating I have no links, and I've
also tried to check every object for links to another file (ie assigned a
macro from another file).

Is there a name in the File Not Found box? What is the title of the box?

Anyway it may be a problem of compatibility... and in that case, I won't
know if there's something to do to fix it! :-/
