I've got a ghost in an excel file. When I open the file it is automatically
hidden, i.e. you have to go to Window-Unhide to see that it is open, and when
I do there are two copies. To summarise, when I try to open this excel file
it always opens two copies of the file and both are hidden.

Any help appreciated

Try with this:

Open your file, unhide the two windows, close one of the two windows, then
save your file and close it. Try to open it again.

Hi,

try to see if you do not have any Auto_open function in VBA on this WS,
press ALT+F11 to see it.

And it's not two copies of the file--it's two windows or views into a single
workbook.

Debra Dalgleish has instructions (with pictures!):
