You want all of that information combined in one cell but want to be able to
sort by any of them? Not sure if you can do that. How do you have your data set up presently? I dont want them in a single cell, just in a single row. For example, i have
the first names in the A column, last names in B, and the phone numbers in C. I want to be able to sort the names in alphabetical order, by first or last, without giving people the wrong last names or numbers. Make sure you hilight all of the data you want sorted before doing the sort.
for example, if you just highlight the first name column it will sort only the 1st names and the rest of your data will be out of order. If you highlight all of your data then do the sort the proper data will stay where you want it. (as in the proper phone number will stay with the proper names) "bubblesnco" wrote: I dont want them in a single cell, just in a single row. Select your range of cells (or even just one cell in the range if it is contiguous, & separated from other populated cells), then Data/ Sort/ first by column A/ then by column B/ then by ... etc. -- David Biddulph |
