Workbook slow opening & saving
Hi there,
I have an Excel 2002 workbook that contained; 10,000 rows of raw data A pivot table spread over 7 worksheets (ie utiliising the pages option) Several users with read only access across the network 4 small macros contained within a module Some Vlookup functionality Just recently this spreadsheet started to take 2-3 mins to open & to save, so in order to try & remedy this I took out a lot of historical data so that now I only have 3,000 rows of data. However the problem still persists. The file is abot 7mb big and I have gone in to all worksheets & deleted blank rows & columns but to no avail. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks Phil |

Clear out your Temporary Internet Files for starters.
Check out the Excel Page on Charles Williams' site for calculation secrets and optimizing. http://www.decisionmodels.com/ Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Wed, 21 Jun 2006 05:51:01 -0700, Phil Spears wrote: Hi there, I have an Excel 2002 workbook that contained; 10,000 rows of raw data A pivot table spread over 7 worksheets (ie utiliising the pages option) Several users with read only access across the network 4 small macros contained within a module Some Vlookup functionality Just recently this spreadsheet started to take 2-3 mins to open & to save, so in order to try & remedy this I took out a lot of historical data so that now I only have 3,000 rows of data.
