How do I sort variables into sets of three?
mikeb Wrote: I am trying to find a way to sort the letters A-T into non-repeating sets of three and/or four Any particular order? ABC DEF GHI? or something else? How will you decide if you want it in sets of 3 or 4? What format do you want output. A,B,C in 1 column each followed by a blank column followed by, D, E, F in 1 column each? You need to provide more info on what you are trying to do. -- Mallycat ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mallycat's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=35514 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=553831 |

However, I took the time and sorted the sets. There are 171 ways to sort A-T without repeating a set, such as ABC and ABC. Now, I am wanting to seperate the sets into groups of 7 without repeating a set [(ABC, EFG, HIJ...)(KLM, NOP, QRS...)]. I fear I am going to have to do it manually. |
