Gobbie

is it possible to embed a font in an excel file?

I've got a new font (pie-charts) and want to embed it into an Excel
spreadsheet so others can view it correctly without me having to send them
the font file. Any ideas?!

Yes, as an embedded object.

Insert Object from file and then browse and insert the .ttf file.

The recipient can then double-click the object and install the font. They
may have to the close and re-open Excel to see the effect.

Thanks for your help. I realise now that I didn't ask the question clearly
although your response has given me another option.

I would like to embed the font in a similar way as Word & Powerpoint so that
the person I send the file to does not have to install the font but can view
the file correctly. Hopefully that makes sense!

Excel doesn't support this.

You'd have to send the font and make sure the recipient(s) install that font.
