Select data from cells
Does anyone know how to select data from either odd or even rows and put in a
consecutive fashion. I have text in the odd rows and numbers in the even ones. I want to get rid of the numbers and have only text, but it doesnt happen. thank you for anyones help. |

You should be able to do a 'sort' of your data, it should sort the text in
one group and the numbers in another, then just delete the rows with numbers. does that help? Thank you Tim, that gave me a good idea, however I need to relate the data in
order, and sorting changes the order. If you have any other ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. Can you not sort it back the way it was after you eliminate the rows with
text? Perhaps it would be easier if you could give an example of what the real data is like? Thank u Tim,
actually i meant to post a thank u before, as I figured it out. It is not possible for the data i was sorting it out to bring it back to the way it was, as the numbers had to do with the order, but i wanted to discriminate them and just get the text. However, i got around that by numbering correlatively the data, then sorted the column with my data (numbers/text), eliminated numbers adn resorted based on correlative, and got my order back again, without the trash data. thank you Luis "Tim M" wrote: Can you not sort it back the way it was after you eliminate the rows with text?
