Save as CSV
Hi,
a French customer has noted that Excel always seems to put a semi colon as the delimiter when using the Save As CSV functionality. If I set up my PC as French Language in Regional Options, then click Customise and change the list separator from semi colon to comma, each time I use Save as CSV in excel the default French semi colon delimiter is always used instead of the comma. As i understand it the list separator value should be used. Is there anything else I need to change to have the comma delimiter when in French mode? I have trawled the web but can't seem to find any answers. Any info would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Jeff |

Customise and change the list separator from semi colon to comma, each time I use Save as CSV in excel the default French semi colon delimiter is always used instead of the comma. I found this was true if I had Excel open when I made this change to French settings and with the separator as a comma. (That is, I still got a semi-colon). But if I closed and re-started Excel then a Save As CSV resulted in the comma being used. -- Jim "Jedawi" wrote in message ... | Hi, | | a French customer has noted that Excel always seems to put a semi colon | as the delimiter | when using the Save As CSV functionality. | | If I set up my PC as French Language in Regional Options, then click | Customise | and change the list separator from semi colon to comma, each time I use | Save as CSV in excel the default | French semi colon delimiter is always used instead of the comma. Save as CSV
Hi Jim,
thanks for your response, I have tried making the change with Excel closed and restarted the PC and still get the semi colon as the seperator seems very strange. I am getting the same output with both excel 2000 and 2003. Regrads, Jeff "Jim Rech" wrote in message ...
