date format
 
i have a spreadsheet that someone gave me with date fields in it. some of
the dates are 02/05/2006 and some are 2/5/2006 some with 0s and some
without, i want to make them all 02/05/2006 format when i go to format
cells i dont see an option so how is this able to happen 02/05/2006
all the cells show the same format type *3/12/2001 anyone know why

Hi,

Format | Cell | Custom - and put dd/mm/aaaa or mm/dd/aaaa as you convinience

Are you sure that the 'dates' are not actually text values? The Date
formatting options will only work if Excel is treating the data as a date,
not as text.
