same named cell in separate worksheets

Excel will define print_areas for separate worksheets in a workbook. If
I recall correctly, in the past, you could define named cells that were
specific to a worksheet...

I've got a workbook consisting of several similar worksheets each with
a 'total' entry and a summary page which lists the totals...

I'd like to reference the totals via named cells rather than absolute
references (i.e., 'ws1'!total vs 'ws1'!$b$14)...

TIA

Al

Hi

Select your cell and go to Insert/ Name/Define. Give your cell the name
ws1!total
for sheet ws1 etc. As long as you prefix the name with the worksheet, it
should work!

Hope this helps.
Andy.
