Filled Grid button

I have been exploring a new installation of Excel 2003. There is a
"Filled Grid" button in the Commands|Format section of the Customize
[toolbars] dialog box. It doesn't seem to do anything when I click on
it and I can find nothing in the Help files describing it. What's it
for?
