moving pivot table data source files
I have multiple spreadsheets referring to a single 'data source' spreadsheet
(different file). How can I move that all important single spreadsheet to a different directory and still have the pivot tables in the dependant spreadsheets find the data source? |

I have the same question! Our server (small office) went down and we had to
move the MS Access database file to another location. My excel worksheet will not refresh and I can not find a way to trace this file! Thanks "Will C." wrote: I have multiple spreadsheets referring to a single 'data source' spreadsheet (different file). Depending on how you have your data sourced - under the 'Data\Import External
Data menu in Excel you should be able to use the 'Refresh' command and also edit both external queries and/or linked data ranges so that they point to the new source location. Depending on how many data sources and links you have set up this could be a little tedious but still better than rebuilding the entire worksheet if it is complex.
