I have a spreadsheet that I've created all the necessary naming for the
various drop-down menus. However, I cannot get a cell (that depends on a
choice in one column) to go blank to force the user to make a selection from
the new group of selections.

Example: Column A I choose Cat, B - I get choices of colors (brown, gray,
etc.)
If I choose Column A to be Snake, I want be to go blank, and then the new
selections be ready in the pull down area (green, yellow, etc.)

Is this possible?

We're that far, but what I need is for the cell to go blank if I change my
choice. Therefore your example, if I change my mind between fruit and
veggies on line 3, I need cell C3 to go blank forcing me to select a new
item. As yours is, I can change my mind, change from fruit to veggies, and
leave oranges there with no error or issues. I'm attempting to idiot proof a
selectionn proces for a sales force.

how can you change your mind?If fruit is displayed red green orange will be
displayed,if you choose snake,scaly ,smooth, venemous will be displayed?You
can have the first line of your list blank forcing users to click on the list
to see what the new choices are?

Ok, we can change our mind on amounts and other items. My lists are
dependent if someone chooses item A - they get a choice of 2-3 options, which
may overlap with item B and item C. The cost of one of the options may be
better depending on what is used (lots of formulae in here) - so we want to
make sure that if they change their mind from Option A - that they also
changed this other field (that will search for a new list) to get the correct
total package (of sorts).

Now, that being said, I have tried the "add a blank line" in front of each -
but it won't blank out the cell until you click to make a choice (then there
is a blank line at the top), but it won't force them to change that item.
Perhaps that isn't an option with excel?
