Default typed numbers entered in cell wrong

I typea number in a cell and it appears divided by 10 i.e type 90 enter amd
..9 appears in cell

Try this:

From the Excel main menu:
<tools<options<edit tab
Uncheck: Fixed decimal places

Does that help?

Go to the Tools menu, choose Options, then the Edit tab. There,
uncheck the "Fixed decimal" setting.
