compare lists, extract new values
I have two spread sheet, one with a list of current products, and another with a list of new inventory that came in. I would like to be able to generate a list of new items that came in that are not on the current product list. Is there an easy way of doing this without creating a macro. Currently I am just using a vlookup() formula and whereever there is an error I manually cut and paste into a new list. It is not very efficient. Any thoughts. compare lists, extract new values
so I managed a semi efficient work around. i copied the item numbers from the inbound inventory, I then created a column with a vlookup searching in the current inventory for the new inventory item num, I then sorted based on the vlookup column so i got all my errors together. I then deleted out the rows that found matchs, and was left with the new item numbers, for which i created a vlookup to bring in all of the rest of the info for the product (price, qty, ect). Is this the best method? I am thinking there has to be an easier way... -- trav ------------------------------------------------------------------------ trav's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=31420 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=542292 |
