I have a list of names that I use several times a day and only use some of
the names each time. I know that if i type it once, then the autofill feture
will work after that, but I want to use it upon opening the sheet.

Suggestions.

You could create a list and hide it so if you use let's say 25 names you put
the whole list in A1:A25, then hide the first 25 rows now when you type from
row 26 onward it will autocomplete (I believe you want autocomplete, not
autofill)
