Fill color in a cell

Is it possible if one a cell equals, lets say "-" for another cell to be
filled with a certain color?

For example, there is a formula in A2 that produces "-" and D2:J2 fills
w/ the color black.

Is that even possible?

Thanks,

Fill color in a cell

Select D2:J2

FormatCFFormula is:

=$A$2="-"

Important to have the $ signs to lock $A$2 as the trigger cell.

Format to a black pattern
