Help! Still looking for answr: editing unlocked cells in prtctd wr
I'm using Excel 2003, and I can't seem to edit the contents of an unlocked
cell when I protect the worksheet. Hitting F2 in these cells deletes the content of the cells. I am allowed to enter in new data, but I would prefer that F2 would work as it does with unprotected worksheets (i.e., and allow me to modify the cell's existing information). I've done a lot of testing on this, including on other machines, even other versions (2000 and 2002). Is this really an "undocumented feature" or am I losing my mind? |

Phil,
I am using Excel2000 on Win2000 and when I press F2 in an unlocked cell in a protected worksheet, F2 functions as expected. That is, it lets me edit (add to) the existing entry. Dominic - Thanks for the response. I was mistaken - I only tested on Excel
2002 and 2003, not Excel 2000, and both on Win2000. So not sure what to do next, as it is not working.... Hi Dave - Yes, thank you. In hindsight, I probably should have posted only
once. First time rookie mistake.... "Dave Peterson" wrote: You have other responses at your other thread.
