howdo I turn off default that automatically changes 8-4 to Aug-4?
When I type 8-4 or 8/4 in a cell, these characters automatically change to
Aug-4 when I move to the next cell. Obviously there is a default at work in Excel 2003 that is doing this. Is there a way to turn off this default or am I forced to contiually text format the cells into which I type characters such as these? |

Type an apostrophe before the 8, or pre-format the cell as TEXT

You can set the locale option to English (United States) instead of letting it be custom. -- Intekhab Aalam ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Intekhab Aalam's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=34171 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=539377 |
