Can't insert custom worksheet template
 

I have created a custom worksheet template and saved it in my templates
folder. When I try to insert the worksheet by right clicking on the tab,
selecting insert, and selecting my template, nothing happens. Nothing is
inserted.

Are you trying to insert a template into another WB?

If so, are you right clicking in a tab of the WB and *not* the template?

Yes, I am trying to insert a template into another WB. Yes, I am right
clicking in a tab of the WB.

Snail

Save the template as SHEET.XLT and store it in your XLSTART folder. Not in the
templates folder.

Usually found here.............

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel

That will be the default new worksheet.

I can't seem to duplicate your problem.

Even on a 'sheet protected', WB, I can insert a template.

When the WB is protected, the 'Insert' option is grayed out.

On a 'shared' WB, an error message displays, denoting that the particular
command is not available.

Exactly what happens when you click "Insert"?
Are you automatically directed to the <Files <New folder, where you can
choose your template??
