problems with excel
 

I am unable to import data into Excel. When I select 'Import External Data'
and then 'Import data' the Excel program locks up and goes no further. Is
there a fix for this, or am I missing something?

Maybe it's from the Windows update that's been causing problems. See Dave
Peterson's reply to the post right above yours in microsoft.ppublic.excel.misc
