I have some saved files created in MS Works, but don't have MS Works on my
machine. Instead I now have Office XP. Word opens files with the .wps extention, but Excel doesn't open files with the .wks extension. The .wks files were created by a version of Works current when Windows 98 was released. Thanks Richard |

Richard,
I don't believe you can open works files in excel without first saving them as an excel file. So I guess you need to transport the works file to a machine that has both works and excel. Open the works file and when you do a save as, select the dropdown for excel, and save. Now when you get them back to your machine they with open. They will not have all the functionality available in excel but you can add it if you want.
