Need excel formula for "if A1<0 adjust A2"

I need an Excel formula for the following function "if value is less than or
greater than 0 adjust value in cell reference A1 to give a result of 0". I
know this can be achieved manually using Goal Seek but I was wondering if
this can be achieved automatically using a formula.

Need excel formula for "if A1<0 adjust A2"

In cell A2 enter:
=IF(A1<=0,0,123)

just replace 123 with whatever value you desire

Thanks for the reply. I tried your formula but unfortunately it didn't work.
Maybe this explains my question a little better;

A1 + A2 = 0

If A2's value changes automatically adjust the value in A1 so the rusult
remains at 0.

You won't be able to adjust A1 since you either enter data in the cell OR a
formula in the cell. The best you can do is calculate the value needed as
Gary's Student suggested and store this in another cell.

What you can do is take all of these calculated values copy them and then
Paste Special - Values Only over the orignial data. If you don't use the
Values Only, you will probably get a circular reference error.

I think this is what you are looking for;
