Hi Emma,
Many thanks for your advice. As I am working to a strict deadlineI think I'll go the first route i.e. load the other sheet and then unload. I will try to rebuild the sheet at a later time. Will let u know if i find anything else out. -- Marshall "Emma Hope" wrote: Hi Marshall, I'm not an expert by i have the same problem ,if you link directly to a cell it seems to work but if you do 'something' with the link reference, like use it in a formula it doesn't work. I just programatically open the source automatically when i open the spreadsheet and close it when i'm done. Secondly i found two identical spreadsheets from different users, one links, the other doesn't, don't know why but i remade the one that doesn't work from scratch ?& now it works. I have linked many workbooks over the years without problems. Am i missing something simple. If I load the source it works perfectly but its something i don't want to do. -- Marshall |
