Default Excel opens but workbook does not open

Whe I double click the abc.xls file, excel opens and I can see the file name
on the title bar but the workbook does not open.

Can some one help?

Default Excel opens but workbook does not open

Maybe the file is hidden. Click on Windows-- Unhide and see if the workbook
is in the list.. Click on the workbook name and hit ok. if it unhides then
save the same in the un-hidden mode.

Maybe the file got hidden and saved while excel was being shut down.

Try window|arrange|tiled

And resize the way you want.
