Does anyone know if it is possible to imbed an image file in excel? I
know I can just open an image on top of a spreadsheet, but I would like
to actually have the image associated with the cell itself.

Thanks,
Chris

Say we have a .jpg file

Open the file ( Paint or your favorite image editor) copy the picture

In the worksheet, while holding down the shift key, pull-down:

Edit Paste Picture.

Just remember to hold down the shift key

Depending on what you mean by "associated with a cell", you can place a
picture in a comment. Search "Place pic in comment" at this sight and
something will come up. If this will work for you and you have no luck
please post back.
