Front page install prompts when starting Excel.
I have had Excel 2002 on my computer since I purchased it. I went to open it
recently & it came up with a install box asking to insert Microsoft Office XP Professional with Front Page. I am a licensed user and do not have the disk. I recently took it to the computer shop for this problem & they said my short cut was corrupt. It has happened again. How can I fix it myself? |

You will need the CD/DVD. The computer shop should provide you with the media or it should have been installed in full on the hard drive, so you can point to here when Office needs any updates. It should also have a licence sticker for Office on the computer case. You can also phone your local MS office, who for a shipping and media charge will likely send you a replacement disc -- HTH Nick Hodge Microsoft MVP - Excel Southampton, England www.nickhodge.co.uk HIS "Scooter" wrote in message ... I have same problem as scooter below had word, xl and outlook 2002 for years,
all ligitimately purchased from microsoft and never a problem - suddenly I get prompts when opening these packages - "insert Micosoft Office XP Professional with Front Page". Never heard of front page and never needed it. I do not have the boxes or discs anymore. Microsoft less than helpful on call center want to charge 13 dollars to contiinue call after they acknowlegde that my version is a valid copy. any pointers to get rid of irratating prompts?
