Hi,

Can anyone help me, I have a financial workbook which is all in
millions i.e 1.1 this data should actually be in 000's i.e. 1100

There are several fourmulas in this workbook and these need to remain
intact so is there any way of multiplying every selected cell by 1000
whilst keeping the remaining formulas/data untouched?

Any help would be most appreciated

One method is to 'copy' and 'past special' (select the Multiply option) 1000
to all the selected cells, but you will need to ensure that the cells
containing formula are not selected.

To do this type '1000' into an empty cell. Right click the cell and select
Copy. Then highlight all the cells containing data. Right click and select
'Paste Special', choose the Multiply option and click OK. The job should be
done! If this would be very difficult, consider copying your equations to a
different sheet and then copying them back on completion of the multiply
paste.

Just to add on a little ..

If its only numbers on the sheet that needs to be multiplied by 1000, the
selection of these data cells all over the sheet for the paste special
multiply operation (after copying the cell with 1000 in it) could be eased
via:

Press F5 Special
Check "Constants"
Then uncheck: Text, Logicals, Errors
Click OK

I've found the "Go To Special" dialog
(accessed via: F5, Ctrl+G, or Edit Go To)
useful in providing a number of options
to quickly select cells
