If I select a cell and right click, I can see _I_-nsert-... highlighted and insert function would work. but if I select the whole column and right click, my _I_-nsert-... is not highlighted and insert function does not work... Is this my setting or option problem? looked everywhere and couldn't figure out...... -- at&t ------------------------------------------------------------------------ at&t's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=33378 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=532064 |

Are yoiu running Excel '97 and have you Merged cells in the column? To locate merged cells, select the first cell in the column and drag that selection downwards, the selected range will become multiple columns if merged cells exist. -- at&t Wrote: If I select a cell and right click, I can see _I_-nsert-... highlighted and insert function would work. but if I select the whole column and right click, my _I_-nsert-... is not highlighted and insert function does not work... Bryan. it's Excel 2002 and I even open a brand new sheet and I'm still not getting that _I_nsert... word when right click if I select a whole column to try to insert a column. It's very frustrating. thanks in advance if anyone can think of anything.... -- at&t ------------------------------------------------------------------------ at&t's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=33378 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=532064 |

With Excel closed, try deleting the C:\Documents and Settings\~~your user~~\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\Excel~~.xlb file, starting Excel will re-create this file. -- at&t Wrote: Bryan. it's Excel 2002 and I even open a brand new sheet and I'm still not getting that _I_nsert... word when right click if I select a whole column to try to insert a column.
