How to do if then statements changing color text?

Hello,
I need to know how to change the color of the text in one box by placing an
"X" in another box.
For example there will be text in A7 that will be red. When I type an "X"
in I7, I want the text in A7 to turn black.

Use Conditional Formatting.

Select cell A7. Go to Format MenuConditional Formatting. Change the
Cell Value is: option to Formula is: Type in this formula in the
formula bar.

=I7="X"

Click on Format, Font Tab, select the color you want. Click OK, OK.
