Save a workbook but not as "read-only"

How can I save a workbook to a disc and then take the disc to another
computer, open the workbook and make changes and then save it to the disc
again as the same file? (an example: what I am trying to do is like in
WORD, if you type a report, and save it to a disc, and then go back and make
changes and save it, you can use the same name...thats what I am wanting to
do but with Excel workbook.)
