Using Autofilter on a Protected Worksheet
I am using XL 2000. The sheet I have requires the AutoFilter function,
however I also wish to protect it. When I do protect it, the AutoFilter does not work. Is there any way around this. I know if I was using XP there is an option to protect the worksheet but leave the AutoFiler functioning, but I can not find that option on the XL 2000 version I am using. Please HELP!!! |
Using Autofilter on a Protected Worksheet
If you already have the outline/subtotals/autofilter applied, you can protect
the worksheet in code (auto_open/workbook_open??). Option Explicit Sub auto_open() With Worksheets("sheet1") .Protect Password:="hi", userinterfaceonly:=True '.EnableOutlining = True .EnableAutoFilter = True End With End Sub It needs to be reset each time you open the workbook. (excel doesn't remember it after closing the workbook.) If you're new to macros, you may want to read David McRitchie's intro at: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/getstarted.htm Brendan Vassallo wrote: I am using XL 2000.
