How do I clear a column of data without clearing specific cells?
I have a range of cells where the data is pulled from another spreadsheet,
then subtotaled. Is there a way to "protect" the subtotal formulas so that I can highlight the entire range, copy and paste values only but not overwrite the subtotals? |

Try the following on a copy of your worksheet --
In the column of data to be copied, leave blank cells where the subtotals would appear. Copy the cells Select the starting cell where the data will be pasted Choose EditPaste Special Under Paste, select All, and check the box for Skip Blanks Click OK EllenSwarts wrote: I have a range of cells where the data is pulled from another spreadsheet, then subtotaled. I'm not sure how that helps me. Must I then enter each subtotal formula?
That's what I'm trying to avoid. What I'd like to do is copy the entire column as values EXCEPT where there's a subtotal formula -- then I want the subtotal formula to stay.
