Default Mystery Cell

I'm at my wits end! There is this cell in my spreadsheet that won't print (on
paper). Everything else around it prints. I've tried everything I can think
of to get it fixed. Retyped the cell contents; copied to it from another
cell. Nothing works. I can see the text on the screen and in print preview
but it just doesn't come out on the paper. Here is the text I'm trying to
print out:

Pine, Clear, 1 x 6 x 7' (Door Jamb), Ripped into 3 pieces ea 1-1/2"

Now, there's nothing special about that, is there? Why won't it print? What
have I done wrong? Same font, same cell formatting as other cells.

I would recommend,
Delete the entire row....
Insert a new row....
Retype the data in that new row......

Have you tried File/Print Area/Clear Print Area?

Default Mystery Cell

Yes, Chuck, that was the first thing I tried. No Go.

JMB, Good suggestion but fiddling around with the print area doesn't work
either.

My cell still won't print. BTW, I sorted my list and not a bunch of other
random cells in column E won't print along with the initial cell that
wouldn't print in column C (which is, due to the sort, on a different row
number. Thus, the problem followed the repositioning of the sort.)

Has anyone else seen this problem before?

Default Mystery Cell

OK, I found out why the cell wasn't printing but I don't understand why. Some
one will have to tell me why. Here's how I fixed the problem. The cell that
wasn't printing contained the following text:

Pine, Clear, 1 x 6 x 7' (Door Jamb), Ripped into 3 pieces ea 1-1/2"

I deleted the double-quote character from the end of the string so that the
string looks like this:

Pine, Clear, 1 x 6 x 7' (Door Jamb), Ripped into 3 pieces ea 1-1/2

It printed fine. So, I put the double-quote back and it again wouldn't
print. Why is this happening? I have other cells with strings ending in a
double-quote in the same column and they print fine such as the following:

P-Trap, PVC, Black, 1-1/4"

Why O Why?
