How to identify a list of numbers as a publisher field

I have created a ticket in Publisher. I want to mail merge tracking numbers
into it from a list of numbers in Excel. I have never used excel before. I
did my list of numbers need to know, with simple directions, how to identify
the list as a field in publisher and have publisher recognise that field.
Thanks so much for any help on this.

How to identify a list of numbers as a publisher field

Hi

Just put your numbers into a column - with a header. Save the file.
Open Publisher and go to Mailmerge/Open Data Source. Select 'Merge
information from another type of file' and browse to your file.
It will ask if you want to use the first row as field names - that's a Yes.
It will then probably ask for a sheet name of the book. It'll probably be
Sheet1 - unless you have renamed it.
It will then display a list of field names - well, there should only one!
Position your cursor where you want to insert your field and put it in
there!
You can then click on Mailmerge/Merge to show the results.

Hope this helps.
Andy.
