Cell value fails to recalculate
When I change a formula in a cell on one worksheet, the cell on another
worksheet in the same workbook that references the cell I changed does not update. |
Cell value fails to recalculate
Is calculation set to manual in tools=Options=Calculation tab. If so, set
it to automatic. -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy "PSW2000" wrote: When I change a formula in a cell on one worksheet, the cell on another worksheet in the same workbook that references the cell I changed does not update. |
Cell value fails to recalculate
I am aware of the automatic/manual recalculation, calc now and calc sheet. I
think this problem goes back. I am updating a workbook that was written when only one sheet was allowed per workbook. Along the way it has been upgraded with each new version up to v2003. I understand after talking with its creator that he experienced this problem in the past - unbeknownst to me until now. Something must not have transitioned well. The problem is that the workbook now consists of 40 worksheets all cross-referenced. It would take and enormous amount of work to recreate it. If I make some formula changes and then exit the program, re-enter and recopy the formulas then it updates. It doesn't leave me with a very secure feeling and besides it's a pain in the neck. I question whether there is hidden MS code that is hidden somewhere that is the cause of the problem. I've used excel from it's beginning and I have never seen anything like this.
