How do I sort dates in Excel
I am transcribing a cemetery and want to be able to sort by birth date and
death date. I have already entered the dates as year-month-date all numbers. (yyyy-mm-dd). eventually it will be posted on line and will be a little confusing to read that way. I would rather have it read day month and year (06-May-1889) with or without the - Is there any way that I can change everything, short of going back and redoing the whole thing? If there is any way I need simple complete direction's. |
How do I sort dates in Excel
Once you have entered the dates, Excel maintains them internally as a number
of days sice 01/01/1900. You can format thes dates the way you like, this will only show different formats, not change the internal dates.
