Refresh PivotTable, lose custom cell formatting
 

I am using Excel 2003. I see several posts about losing custom cell
formatting. They refer to the setting "Preserver Formatting". This works
well when the data source is from an Excel worksheet. However, I can not
preserve formatting after a refresh when the data is from an external data
source.

Any help would be appreciated,
