protecting formula cells in excel 2003

users are writing over the formula cells so im
trying to protect the formula cells in excel 2003 and not having a lot
of luck. when i protect the formula cells, they quit working-it
disables the formulas.
if i protect the sheet, then i cant do data entry in the non-formula
cells.
this is frustrating.

the "options" that you refer to do not address the problem of the
formula cells no longer working when they are protected.
here it is again, when the formula cells are protected , according to
the instructions eg protecting the cells using the format options then
protecting the sheet, the formulas QUIT WORKING !!!!
