cell formatting
i need to enter "1-10" in a cell as a category heading and will need to enter
similar data for the same reason, but every time i try this, once i select another cell it is changed into eiter a date or something else. i've tried changing formats and creating custom formats, but nothing i do will make the cell stay as i type it. please help |

Type a ' before the 1-10; that will force Excel to accept the input as text.

Either type a leading apostrophe before the 1-10, (it will only show in
