Hi Ani,
yes few of the sheets contain macro If you select all worksheets (click first, hold shift and click last tab) and copy them to a new workbook (rightclick tab, select move or copy, choose "New workbook" from the dropdown) and save that new file (use a different name!), does the problem go away? Hi Ani,
Try this Go to start-run.Type excel /safe.This opens excel in safe mode without any startup addins or macros which might run as soon as the workbook opens.Try to open your 97 excel file from here.If it opens successfully save it as a Microsoft excel 97/2000 file.Plz lemme know if this helps.
