in sheet AA

D1:CAT

F1:ORCL

& in sheet BB
A1:MSFT
A2:LU
A3:CSCO
A4:CAT
A5:IBM
A6:ORCL

&

B1:MICROSOFT
B2:LUCENT
B3:CISCO SYSTEMS
B4:CATERPILLAR
B5:INTERNATIONAL BUISNESS MACHINES
B6:ORACLE

I want Cells Below Symbols in sheet AA to display the name of the
company from sheet BB

what formula do i have to use if they not in the same order & the order
of the symbols change according to some external information ?

example: in A2 =LOOKUP(A1,Sheet2!$A$1:$B$5)
copy this formula accross the column

Have sheet1 ranges A1,B1,C1,... as drop down menus
if you want
