how do I insert simple checkbox which can be checked by a click?
EXCEL 2003 - I want to insert check boxes into an spreadsheet which can be
checked as confirmation of a task being completed. I have managed to insert the checkboxes themselves but can't get any further. I can't insert a check in the box. Can anyone help? |

From the Forms toolbar, *_not_* the Control Tool box, select Check box. -- Gary Brown ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gary Brown's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=17084 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=520078 |

Thanks - I had got that far myself. I have put the checkbox in the
spreadsheet but can't seem to do anything else with it. When I go into Properties it brings up a window which seems to be in Visual Basic which I haven't got a clue about. I just want to be able to put a tick in the box - nothing more complex than that! That sounds like you are selecting the checkbox from the Control Tool box Toolbar. You need to select checkbox from the Forms toolbar. When you have created the box, select a cell away from the checkbox, so that the handles to extend the checkbox disappear, then when you hover the mouse over the checkbox, the mouse pointer changes to a hand and you can select deselect the checkbox. If you are still having a problem, let me know and I will send you an example. -- Gary Brown ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gary Brown's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=17084 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=520078 |
