adding new rows and keeping same formulas
Hi,
I'm wondering if it's possible in any way to keep my formulas when i add new rows because I hate writing in the same formulas over and over and over. Thanks a bunch. |

Can you give an example of what you are talking about? If you want formulas
to always point to certain rows or columns you can use absolute cell addresses rather than cell A2 you would put $A$2 and it will always point to the contents of that cell no matter what rows are added. if you add new rows the formulas will move to allow for them,,, unless you
mean having the formula in your new row if thats the case jusr copy and paste formula from row above into new row Rich " wrote: Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible in any way to keep my formulas when i add new rows because I hate writing in the same formulas over and over and over. Thanks a bunch. |

Formulas can typically be copied down. For example, if you have in C1
the following formula: =A1*B1 then you can copy it down and the cell references will change. For example, in C5, it will automatically become =A5*B5 If such is the nature of your formula, then you can fearlessly insert rows and then simply copy the existing formulas along the entire column.
