Excel 2003 Limitations?

Is there a maximum file size for Excel 2003 and or other limitations on the
amount of rows / data that it can store? We have an application that is
trying to automatically import roughly 132,000 records into an excel file and
only 16+ thousand are shown. Any ideas? Thanks!

<only 16+ thousand are shown

Is a record a row?

Excel has a limit of 65536 rows per worksheet.
You can use more worksheets, but that generally doesn't make things easier.
Check HelpSpecifications.

Start learning to use Access instead of Excel.
