I'm moving to a new machine, and want to take my XLB file with me (for Excel
2000). I've modified the toolbar lots of times, so the file has to be here, but a full search of the hard disk turns up nothing. This machine's running XP Pro, if that offers any clues. |

include the command to look for hidden files.

It was already set that way. I ended up finding it using the DOS command
Dave suggested. What's interesting is that once I found it, I tried searching for it again in Explorer. Again, not found. The file was NOT hidden. Maybe the folder is hidden?

When I click on Windows|start button|search, I can choose the advanced Options
and see a few more options. This is what I have clicked (and I find my *.xlb files under winXP Home and xl2003): Search system folders search hidden files and folders search subfolders Doug Kanter wrote: It was already set that way. Or you could use an old DOS command:
Windows start button|Run cmd (windows 2k/xp) command (windows 98) At the DOS prompt: C: (to get to the C: drive) cd\ (to get to the root directory) dir *.xlb /s the /s means to search through subdirectories.
