Copy the formatting and content of a range
I wish to create a complex (pricelist) template which contains many named ranges. When creating new individual price lists which contain common ranges from the template, I need to select say range called "Header" which is several columns wide and several rows high. I need to find a way to copy & paste the formatting and content of a range, preserving different row heights and column widths, together with titles etc. So far I haven't found a solution. Any help gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance. Copy the formatting and content of a range
A standard copy/paste of course handles the values and formatting of the
range. An Edit, Paste Special, Column Widths will handle that aspect. There is no built-in way to copy row heights, but they will size automatically to accommodate larger fonts unless the target rows have been preset to a specific height in advance. If that's not good enough you have to consider a macro. -- Jim "davidthegolfer" <davidthegolfer.23mtmm_1140613801.2595@excelforu m-nospam.com wrote in message news:davidthegolfer.23mtmm_1140613801.2595@excelfo rum-nospam.com... | | I wish to create a complex (pricelist) template which contains many | named ranges. Jim, Thanks for your prompt reply. I guess I needed telling. Macros were the only way I could solve it. I guess you confirm that. I was hoping against hope there was another way. Thank you again.
