access dates in excel, how to change format?
I have imported data from Access. When I try to work with the date the
format can not be changed. It stays in mm/dd/yy hrs/min/sec format and can not be changed by excel. Is there a way to change this format to get these cells to act and sort in the same manner as the ones where I manually enter the date? |

If they are not reacting to a change in format, then excel is probably
treating them as text. Try this... 1. Copy an empty cell 2. Select the cells you want to change to a date 3. Edit-Paste Special 4. Select "add" 5. Reformat the cells as a date "dccoffin" wrote: I have imported data from Access. When I try to work with the date the format can not be changed.
