![]() Creating a function and then toggling the display works just fine in a new workbook/sheet. I have a large sheet that ONLY displays the function and never the results. I am stripping off the last (4) digits of a mixed format zip code field using the function *=RIGHT(-cell ref-, 4)* It works just everywhere except this particular sheet. I suspect it had something to do with what happened yesterday. I had this sheet open. Failing to realize it was open, I opened another instance of Excel and the same sheet. It announced that it would be in 'read only' mode, and I accepted that. Then I did a bonehead thing. I spent several hours making masive changes to the data! Didn't realize it til I tried to save it, and it wouldn't let me. I marked the entire contents of the sheet and copied it. Then I closed Excel, both copies. The I started Excel, and 'pasted' the copied data on a new sheet. Everything seemed fine until this. Any suggestions what might be happening? Bill Settegast -- W. J.
