Changing text order
Hope someone can help. How can I change this: (Lastname, firstname) all in the same cell to: (Firstname Lastname) all in the same cell? I need to invert the order of the names and eliminate the comma. I think there is a function that will help me but I cannot find it. Please help. Thanks. -- quinner ------------------------------------------------------------------------ quinner's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=31594 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=512874 |
Changing text order
Use Data Text to Columns... with the comma as the separator to convert the
cell into two cells Last name in A1 and first name in B1. Then reverse the order with =B1 & " " & A1 -- Gary's Student "quinner" wrote: Hope someone can help. Changing text order
You can use something like this: (with your data in A1) =RIGHT(A1,SEARCH(" ",A1)-1)&" "&LEFT(A1,SEARCH(",",A1)-1) -- Cutter ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cutter's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...fo&userid=9848 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=512874 |
